Grate and Impeller
I've been offered a new Pro-tec 11-226 Grate and new Skat-Trak Swirl 12/18R Impeller for the XL1200Ltd (no mods) at a reasonable price. What do you guys think of this combo for the ski? I'm looking for good hole shot in rough water, not speed. Would you keep the standard ride plate or not with these parts? Thank's, Dave.

For "slower" skis, the Protec is a very good grate. No info on the impeller.

the worst thing about the ski is the stock intake grate and the stock plate I would change them both. Ron

Thank's guys. Which plate would you go with for rough water? When you say "slower" ski, do you mean it will run slower than stock, or just that an un-modded ski is "slow" compared to a modded one? Sorry to be a bit dim!

the pro-tec is considered the slower option of the aftermarket grates,

Hi Paul. saw the ski on ebay-sounds awesome! The other option is the Worx as I mentioned a while ago. What about the Skat Trak? would you go with that ,or maybe a Solas, and what pitch?

also the Skat prop is a bit slower, but also an excellent rough water impeller (pitch should be pretty close for stock)
not so sure about the ride plate... listen to the 3 seat owners about that one
