Bare hull-What to do with it?
Hey all, I have a 94sl hull complete without engine sitting here. Could I make some crazy engine combo or just customize it? Any Ideas.?
I could just put a 780 in it or a 750 back in or try something completly different just for fun. I paid 500.00 for the running machine and took the engine out. So it's basically paid for. Running in the slt.!
Maybe like a 1200 seadoo engine from a dealer that may have a ski with a smashed hull and good engine n pump in it ? or???? has anyone ever tried to put like a 900 or 1000 from a different company and Make it work!?
I can fiberglass, paint, have some access to a shop maybe if needed for fabing. Lots of tools. so lets either leave er be, or get out the sawsall and stuff that 350 chevy with a 2-speed in it.lol That would be fast! 90's probably. Hmm... maybe an inline 4 banger.. or an outboard motor engine possibly.
Could you imagine a 70 hp johnson incorporated into the back like a hydroboat? Make a cowling for the cockpit for ya!. Like a mini miss budweiser.lol You wouldnt need the intake or pump or rudder. you would have plenty of room inside with no electronics or engine in there. A big battery would fit right in too because the outboard is self contained with everything. Then run the controls on the side of the craft(like where the reverse lever would go on a slt). That would be neat!

I can't recall where I saw this, but at one time I saw pictures and video of a PWC hull that some had retrofitted with a Mercury 150 EFI V6 power head. That thing sounded like a real mean monster!!!
You might be able to shoehorn in some kind of 60 degree V powerhead from an outboard. That would definitely be a cool project given enough time and $$$$

Browse through the Conversion forum. Lots of interesing projects in progress, and many completed.
The 2.5 liter Mercury drag motor was in a Sea-Doo hull. He has now pulled it out, said it was way to much power for the hull to handle. Something close to 400HP, top speed was way beyond where the hull became unstable.

I would turn an extra hull into a towable cooler/trailer. BTW, I'm keeping my eyes open for an empty hull.
