    That's pretty common for Hondas.

If your buddy removed the intake grate for any reason, it needs to be re-sealed properly, or he needs some impeller work..

Mine has a similar problem when I started raisng the boost above 16psi. I was told that the intake grate could be the problem and to remove a couple of bars. I have been hesitant to do it since there's no returning it back.

My buddy's Honda turbo is completely stock. He's hasn't done anything to it. He was thinking it was his impeller.

We just replaced an impeller this week in a F-12x that was cavitation , now runs like new ( no cavitation ). The customer admits that it always gets beached and runs a ground with it to go claming .

That's it......remove & send the impeller to one of the impeller guru's. Less $$$ to tweek than buy new.

Yep. Stock should not cavitate unless wear ring/impeller issue. I keep reading about cutting bars but I am not sure the potential for damage would be worth the minimal gain. Unless your only concern is performance.
