You are going to need alot of pitch to get it up in speed.

What are you expecting it to run?

That thing will be wicked for fuel consumption, you could ride ballz to the wall all day all weekend and fill 'er up cheaper than gas, or make your own! Cool idea!

If it works out I may try to shoehorn my powerstoke into my speedster!LOL Thats awsome-this forum is so cool-all the people that experiment. I saw a post earlier today of a electric ski. It may be slow but has uses -diversity is awsome! Cant wait to see it going. Are you going to make some sort of jackshaft or transmission to raise the driveshaft rpm to a sutable range-or try to have a prop and pump built to work at low rpm

You beat me to it Robert.

All I can say is thank God that someone is really trying it instead of talking chit about it.
    Good luck on the build.

I was wondering...in previous threads I have read that the rpms are directly proportional to speed, so if this diesel engine is only turning 4500 wont that be limitation to the project?

First off - Good luck on the build Repsol.

Just one thing you might want to look at...

SeaDoo have a system they call TOPS. Not sure if you aware of it, but it might be an idea you need to integrate into the motor somehow. It simply closes off the oil flow if the ski turns upside down. Remember, Diesels are known for getting hydraulic lock if they go sideways or upside down.

Also, I would be looking at a closed loop cooling system.

    I am assuming turbo DI?

You will probably need a big-ish battery to be able to crank it over.

When you pull the trigger the torque will probably make the ride more fun - LOL!

Anyways, those are my 2c's worth.

Good Luck and keep us updated!
