    2003 Rxdi needs motor

Hi all, this should be my first offical post here and not for the reason I really want to ..
i am researching to repair my rxdi because the front (cylnder) ring let go and did in the piston, head and possibly put junk into the crank - i have been told by my dealer shortblock is needed...( machine has 250+ hours on it so age has some bearing on i too i think)
so my first question with shortblocks is ...what is recomended (seadoo OEM is expensive ,,,,)
i have come accross SBT and it looks like not bad work and pricing .. anyone have feedback on these guys or anyone in Canada with similiar or better credentials ...
    thanks

i wouldnt go with sbt, unless you are mechanical impaired this should be a simple project, depending on the damage, you will need to take the engine apart and acces the damage and see if its worth buying a new engine, or repaing the sleeve and piston around $180 for the piston and sleeve, plus sleeve boring which i usually pay about $90 for a bore and removal of old sleeve. usually any auto machine shop can do this, you choose

250 hours on a DI you are going to find a crank bearing with an issues, guaranteed. I would not go with an SBT engine. If it fails in two years you are hosed and out about $1500. Stick with OEM components, chinese bearings seals and pistons are bad things for longevity. The DI engine is a *bitch* to get in and out compared with other machines.

    Where are you located?

I have a brand new OEM longblock DI in stock. but depending on damage it may be cheaper to rebuild yours.

Wayne, Explorer64 is a friend of mine in Canada. What year is the longblock? Please PM me a price. We could pick it up in Buffalo. Do you have a 2002/2003 Head as well? We are looking at rebuild options as well.

    Thanks,
    Mike
