    Pump Wedge

Was reading up on pump wedges, do they make them for a 98 xpl jetpump? if so, do they make a difference?

The idea is that if you tilt the pump up you can get some more hull out of the water while keeping a straighter path through that steering/trim nozzel.

This only applies to boats with trim and I am not convinced that it makes that much of a difference. In the case of the XPL hull, I have found that they run the fastest with the trim set just above neutral so I really do not see what good a wedge would do them. Maybe on another hull like the RX or something.

Some guys my not agree and that is fine but I think the money could be spent elsewhere for more gain.

The pump wedge is more for boats without trim, IMO.

They don't offer much gains on a 951 pump ski, but on an X-4...go for it.

do they make a pump wedge for the 140 pumps the x-4 had? If so I need a couple for my jet boat!

Joe, some people made them. I had a bud in Cananda that raced X-4's, and owned a machine shop. He made quite a few. PPG has machined some before also.

My ski that did 67 has a wedge on it.
