fzr vs rxpx (jerry and jd1 please respond)
Ok so some of you who know me , know that i am the sales manager at a multiline dealer and I have ridden everything in stock form this year. I am curious to the opinions on the rxpx vs the fzr when it comes to acceleration and speed only when modifying. I know the handling and ride quality difference. What I am trying to get to the bottom of is for those of you who have modified both, (Jerry and JD1) if i plan on spending less than 2 grand on performance mods is the fzr worth it. every high hp fzr i have seen is running motec and other mods. I am sure even at dealer cost I wont invest that much in a second ski. Is the fzr capable of the 80 mph speeds the rxpx is at similar costs? Thanks for any input.

I would pick whichever ski you feel handles better and has the ride quality you are looking for and modify it from there to within your budget. I think you will be very happy with either ski you decide on.

I had my X running 77 mph peak and 75 all day for like $400 with better hookup and handling. That ain't happening on an FZR, period. However, the more money you spend (thousands) the FZR becomes the logical choice.

Ok first to respond to Jerry. I have an X already running 76+ just like Mpower said above. I can either purchase it or purchase an fzr. I prefer the handling of the x but there is a little extra incentive for me to purchase the yamaha. I cant spend alot of money on the ski for multiple reasons so I want the most performance as in speed , acceleration for around 2k in performance mods
and just in case this doesnt make sense the x is my dealer demo that is why i have to still purchase it or get a new demo

If you already have access to an X running 76 mph and you prefer the handling of the X the choice is simple. Buy the X model ski

RUSH, it's all about riding what makes you happiest. If you like the handling of the X model i say go for it

How will a FZR perform with $2000 of mods in it?

air intake $189 - $280
Supercharger impeller $450
R&D Powershot $485
Ride plate $200
Intake manifold upgrade $30
Money spent on the above less than $2000, considerably less with the greenhulk coupon code
With the extra money buy a BOV to help protect the clutch.
Result around 76-77 mph with brutal acceleration.
