Polaris Fusion Snowmobile Reeds
One of the first things that *most* Polaris owners like to do is V-Force reeds. For a while now, Al & myself have opted to take another route. On the domestics, we've been using the snowmobile reeds found in the Polaris Fusion model. They are W style reeds like the V-Force, but can be had at a much lower price. Some modification is necessary. A horizontal groove needs to be cut in the manifold(s) for the reeds to sit flush with the manifold, or the raised part of the reed cage needs to be machined flat. It's a simple task for the money savings in my mind. I also like the fact that the Fusion reeds come with a vulcanized rubber lip (so-to-speak) for sealing purposes.

I missed this post. These reeds are awesome and they do have an extremely nice sealing arangement, a little imperfection on the mating surfaces and no big deal. I noticed no loss in performnace compared to the Type II or III's. With the money saved, no speed differences and a better seal this is the way to go. Killer stuff!!!
Now 4 stroke has talked me into trying a set of carbon tech reeds with these bad boys, so that's on my list as I rebuild the Matrix.
