'97 GP1200 Question
Will a GP800 GP760 Intake duct fit a GP1200. I have a crack in mine. Could I fix it with a TIG welder, or is this some kind of special alloy?? Thanks. Trying to repair my hull damage. Found out they don't work so well on land by trial and error

No because the GP 760 and 800's are 144mm pumps, and the 1200 is 155mm.

Thanks gpsleeper. Your 97 must be a riot to ride. Bought mine new in '97. Guess that makes me old school. She's been abused and neglected but has been a very reliable craft. Only mods was new intake grate, ditched the oil pump and premixed (noticed oil guage never dropped after hour of riding) pinched the Yamy piss spout, and added LED navigational lights. Upgraded to a '08 Sho last year..luv it. Could I weld the crack or is it not worthwhile. Also any easy way to quiet this thing. Dynamat in the engine compartment? Prefer stealth Will probably keep the thing since it's a classic and isn't worth much.

Yeah it's a blast to ride, I love it. I don't see why you couldn't weld it, its just cheap flimsy aluminum. Quiet it down???? Come now!
