How to pull 99 GP1200 Engine
Gonna be pulling my engine outta my 99 GP1200 this winter and was hoping for a step-by-step or some insight on this from some of yall who have done it before. Basically any lessons learned from doing it before! Thanks fellas!

This is not a step by step but a few things I have learned over the years that will make things easier.
1. Remove head pipe (the piece that says Yamaha on it.
2. Remove air filter box (if you still have the stock air box).
3. Disconnect the on line to the carbs as well as the return line (make sure fuel knob is in the off position).
4. Disconnect the wires going to the starter
5. Disconnect main cooling line at the exhaust manifold and lines that leave the pipe and dump overboard.
6. Remove the stator/magneto cover
7. Remove the bolts (4 total) that go through the engine mounts (leave the mounts in the hull. Take notice and remember how many shims were on top of the motor mounts.
This is a good start.

sounds good. Thanks! I've been told by acouple people that pulling the engine and rebuilding are easy as anything. Never done it myself but with GreenHulk and a buddy who's done it on a GPR multiple times, so hopefully it will flow with no issues!

I would send me your hull to test it to make sure the engine will fit back in for a summer or so. I would hate to see you rebuild it to find out the engine won't fit when your done!

Hi. I am new to this site. I recently purchased a GP1200 with about 50 hours.
I am planning on pulling the oil pump off and turning it into a pre-mix ski. Any helpful tips on doing this project. I have ordered the plate form Riva. One question I have is when you pull the rubber lines off the carb. do you put a cap on the card or just leave open.
Any other helpful tips? Thanks

Leave oil pump on and go ahead and premix your gas which will cause you to foul plugs but allow an easy transition between non and premix. Once you've ran the gas out of the ski and have mixed the next round...then your ok to pull the oil pump, lines etc off the ski. You will need a block off plate and you can just open up the high's just slighly to compensate for the reduction in gas where the oil will go.
Easy stuff.... =0)
