Any good riding in the Austin area?

My GF and I are going to be down around Austin in mid November and trying to find a good spot to take the skis. She likes the smoother water so river riding seems to work well. Doesn't have to be right around Austin, but within an hour or two. Any ideas?

Lake Dunlap--take exit 189 on IH 35--less than an hour south of Austin. Smooth clear water--you can see down 6 to 8 feet. Let me know if you might come down--you could ride with myself--water4fire--rxtman--rxtdude--s2r--guitarman--enforcer--ball'in ulras--and others here on the forum. They are all Sea-Doo riders. Let me know.

Cool Ray, we might take you up on that offer. Does Dunlap have any river type riding?

I just mean like a narrow body of water that is winding and stays smooth mostly. As opposed to say Lake Travis or Lewisville where its really wide, choppy and like trying to ride in a washing machine. I don't mind doing a little of that, but my GF really prefers the smoother type stuff since she is new to riding.

Looks like Dunlap is more like what I am looking for. Check the pics for examples or what I mean.
Dunlap looks like a good run. How many miles can we go up and down this thing? Can we go from New Braunsfels to Seguin? Any good windy creeks?

Dunlap is about seven miles long. It's smooth seven days a week---except Memorial Day and Labor day.

Ray, it looks like its part of a river that runs from New Braunsfels to Seguin. Is it possible to ride that far up and down it? I'd love to make a long run out of this thing.

It does NOT even come close to Seguin. The seven mile length is winding--only about three miles as the crow flies. The map is misleading. It misleads lots of people--dont feel like the Lone Ranger--LOL.
