    Premix vs Oil injection

After searching, I have read 0 positives on Oil injection. For my application, what you guys recommend?

5200ft elevation, mods- (milled head, d plate, powerfilter, freeflow exhaust hose, efi controller), and most of all- wife and inlaws ride the ski. They like to putt putt around the lake at 20-35mph, and flip it too. The last time I pulled the plugs after one of their rides, it was ghastly lean!

I read that the midrange of the fuel control is set lean on the stock CDI. Can I change the midrange on the EFI controller? Also, with premix, the boat is going to load up if they don't open up the throttle here and there and foul plugs.

The positives I have for keeping the injection-
-wife doesn't need to worry about mixing oil when she fills the ski up with fuel
-The oil pump varies the oil flow for different throttle positions
-2W is fairly cheap and the oil tank lasts a long time

If I'm being an idiot for keeping the injection for my application, please yell at me!

    Thanks,
    James

    b lock it off

with the d plate oil injection blocked off your ski probably wont break. run synthetic and show your wife how to mix the pre mix 50:1

    too easy

the convenience of the oil injection doesn't pay one a component in that system fails. pre -mix is the only true way grass hopper.

    Ride More, Worry Less.... seriously.

    This actually concerns me more...
They like to putt putt around the lake at 20-35mph, and flip it too.
Go buy a $500 used Polaris 1050 3 seater for them to wreck.

By saying flipping it, it may roll over once or twice on the slow stuff for the weekend. These boats are unstable at slow speeds.

When I ditch the oil pump- what do I do with the cable?? Do I have to buy a custom single throttle cable now??

    Thanks,
    James

Great writeup, but still doesn't explain the extra cable to the oil pump

You can tie it off to the fuel tank strap.

Premix it is then, are you guys also removing the oil tank? Or leaving it in to keep the fuel tank strapped down?

I believe there is a small jumper cable from the carbs to the pump... i removed that i think...
Leave the tank and tywrap the sending unit to mimic a full tank, i believe cajun dude shows that....

Premix unless you're really lazy and/or like to roll the dice with your motor...
