Exclamation 1995 SLX is better than Sex

    I picked up a 1995 SLX and a 1996 SL780 to go along with my 1995 SL 750.

Man the SLX is a two stroke Screamer. No searching around for the hull to take a "Set" Just extend thumb and 6580-6600 RPM is waiting.
The sound of the intake thru the seat/hull is great.
Its pretty amazing what the 4" extended pump and ride plate can change.
Any other information on this Ski is appreciated. After every run Im talkin to myself, to much fun to be legal

also has a 4* pump wedge, and I'm sure you noticed the Ocean Pro air cleaners and the sponsons. All of those items can be added to your 780 and 750.

    Thumbs up Hummm

I didnt know about the 4* pump wedge. What * is the stock wedge ? I think I read a interesting article on the GroupKweb site that talked about the wedge. Yes this is my first Polaris with Sponsons.
I may sell the SL750 in the spring. I think Im going to keep the SL780 the way it is just to have something different than the SLX if I get bored. And another 780 motor for back up.
I picked both of these Ski's up dor $750 each. The MFD's didnt work when I got them. The 1/4 amp fuse fixed them both. Then I had to pull both gas tanks and replace the floats to get out of "Limp Home" mode. I have a chunk out of the bottom of the SLX I need to glass up. The SL 780 needs a carb rebuild to get rid of a lean hesitation. I suspect the Pop off is good. I think the diaphram is the culprit.

this SLX reminds me of a Hydrostream tunnel hull. Its hard to describe really. I have had some fast boats (70-95 mph) and they take a good "Set" and go. The SL 750 and 780 were fun in a different way. The SLX kind of "Wakes up" the old hot rod rush for me.
And I can still have Sex
And ride the SKI's, Life is good

4* is stock. I added the 4 inch extended 95 SLX jet pump with the wedge to my 750 years ago. You're SL 780 is capable of the same performance as the SLX with just bolt on parts.

The 750 would still lag behind do to smaller displacement and different port timing and CDI curve.

I hear ya different is good too. I have the 96 SLX, 95 750, hopefully a running Hurricane by Spring, and dare I say it I'm think about a SLT or SLTX All this talk on here about the way they ride. You guys are killing me

    Question 780 SLT

I have been thinking the same thing about the SLT 780. Where I ride can some times be rough as hell. It would be nice to take a full size passenger with out tipping so much. I could sell the SL780 and buy an SLT 780.Plus Im getting old and the little SL's are taking there toll on my back, knee's ect. I have an old houseboat, it would be nice to take the SLX out in the morning and the SLT when it gets rough later in the day.

What type of ski is the Hurricane ? I know its a Polaris but Im not sure what the Hurricane was intended for (What type of riding) ect ?

The Huricane is kind of like a sport bike. It's very similar to the Yami Wave Blaster. From what I understand, it takes some finesse to get on the machine without it tipping over.
I watched a co-worker dump the blaster as he was slowing down to enter the no wake zone. I also watched him try to get back on for about 10 minutes before he gave up. He then pulled it back to the ramp while doing the back stroke for about 70 yards.
