New to the Yami section...Hi
Wanted to say Hi to the Yami section...although I've been on the forum for awhile now over in the Polaris section. My name is Scott and I live in Minneapolis, Mn. and I am very into modifying watercraft. I just bought my first Yamaha watercraft...it is Ronnie's (Ronn25) big bore triple pipe '06 GPR and I'm very excited about it. Although it already has many modifications and already goes almost 90mph, I'm looking to improve on it from out of the hole to top end. I've read hundreds of posts so far and have learned a lot already about the GPR. So I'm looking forward to getting to know the Yami mod guys here and getting help with further ideas. See you around on the boards!

Thanks guys....and Brad, no I haven't had a chance to even ride it yet as the weather here has been unbelievably crappy since I brought it home. Hopefully early next week if the 7 day predictions hold out.

I'm interested to know what kind of holeshot that ski will have if you make some tweaks to it.

Well since it's pretty well tuned in already...just need to run here so I can see where rpms are at. Ronny told me to get it turning around 7900rpms which I'll do by tweaking the impeller as needed. But before I even ride it for the first time, I'll be installing spark plug index washers to give me the best and truest top end rpms for a base line. From there, for out of the hole, I can reshape the leading edges and the front portions of the blades to greatly reduce spin out and improve grip without hurting the top end performance. Next I can put on an Adjust-a-thrust which will improve even more out of the hole and acceleration. If it works as well as it does for the Polaris watercraft I've done, then it's going to be a blast. Over the winter, there's the hole shot kit I want to look into more about and the intake grate to see what else if anything might be able to be done more than what already has been done. So there's some work to be done just on this portion...and I'm looking forward to it!
