    Extra Fuel Tank for RXT-X

Question: I'm looking to compete Project Barracuda in several of Jim Lambert's DJSA Enduro races in NorCal over the next year.

The problem is that while running a Mini Rude with 50lbs injectors (running at 12:1 AFR), and a custom Powerchip tune, the '08 RXT-X simply doesn't carry enough fuel to make it the entire race at WOT.

I've heard of a few guys running supplementary or secondary tanks in the bow. I'd love to see some images and hear some hints as to a cheap and easily repeatable systems. What's needed? What parts did you use?

Contact Friebe. Your deffinently going to need it for Jims race in 2 weeks. Friebe should have a tank in stock.

    Kevin,

The simplest & cheapest way is to contact Steve Freibe at Clawson Motorsports. I as well as others are using a 4.5 gallon add-on stainless tank that he designed & has built on request. If I remember correctly the whole deal costs less than $ 300.00. It simply sits in your front bucket, is strapped down via a couple of holes in the bucket, & a couple of simple fuel lines run. I think Steve has some pictures he can send you. Good Luck beating Sean Conner in the Norcal races. He has the Freibe fuel tank in his boat by the way.

OK, I can see that Mr. Freibe is the guy. Thanks for the input.

And no, I won't be racing the Dana Point-to-Oceanside. But, I might have a small article on our website on it. I'm starting to shy away from races with $200-plus entry fees. Frankly, I think everyone should...

MAN, I wanted to see that beast in action!

as to the last comment, Maybe for another thread....But driving 8 hours, and spending the night somewhere adds up to just as much IMO. Sure I'd love to race for 99 bucks in my own backyard though! HELL YEA!
