    Silicone Sealant

    What silicone should i use to seal my intake grate. 3m 4200 or 5200? thanks

    Good information in this thread. Easily found using the search feature of this forum.

    For Transom plates and Pump shoes see below

    For Intake grates, maybe others will chime in. I personally don't seal my intake grate. Maybe others do.

    Sealing the pump shoe is a must.

    That's what i thought. Thought everyone was sealing their intake grates too.

    Should I install and seal the pump shoe, then install the grate?

    like rx951 said...sealing the pump shoe is a must...but don't do it with 5200. if you ever need to reseal it, you're gonna have a hard time taking the 5200 off.

    This is what I use. The best part is you can remove your parts! Produce is Boat Life, Life calk. and yes seal the grate also front and back! Lee

    I just ordered some 3M 4200 Black. It's harder to find the black. Easy to find the white.

    Stay away from the 4200 on those parts bro! You ever need to remove them? Will be a task and probably need to buy new or use again? Get the boat Life best shizit around and the price on mine was from an off the wall place finding deals!
