PLEASE HELP! Winterizing 2008 FX SHO Cruiser.

    Hello Everyone,

Well it seems the temp may drop below freezing here in Michigan tomorrow night. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to winterize the 2008 Yamaha FX SHO Cruiser?

I have never winterized anything like this befoe and I am really worried there may still be water inside the engine.

    Thanks!

I did, all it came up with was the procedure for putting the ski back on the water after being winterized all winter.

I cant seem to find out where the Antifreeze goes!?

I found this thread that says that Yamaha Ski's do not need to be winterized

    http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthre...nterize+Yamaha

But that can not be right.

Please help! It going to get into the freezing temps tonight. I may just pull the ski in the garage just to be safe, but I really need to hear from someone in the know.

Why not call the dealer you bought it from and ask what they do to winterize a ski because your interested in having it done. Ron

This has been discussed quite a bit and even recently.

The best thing to do is to go by your owners manual. If you are not comfortable with that, have a dealer winterize the ski like someone else said.

In a nutshell, I do not use any anti-freeze. I start the motor out of the water (no hose attached) and do some half-throttle blips for about 15 seconds and then shut it off for a while and clean on it some (let things cool down). You are blowing the majority of the water out of things while doing these throttle blips. After things cool down a bit, do this again. I do it about four or five times and then I pull the battery for the winter. All water should be out of the hull and the motor should be fogged.

There's a MUCH better program on here that I saw recently. Search for it.

+1...that's where I would start. Unfortunately that's as much as I can help as I don't have to winterize in S. FL.
