    Jim's Open Loop Plate

Hello everyone! I'm new but i've been reading as a guest for a long time. Has anyone put more angle on Jim's OO plate by cutting the bosses like the closed Loop mod everyone is doing?

The plate has enough angle as it is now The mounting bosses are already set at Jim's specs. No modification necessary. You can add shims if you need to adjust it.

Yes, we installed a oo plate on a friends boat and ran it without a wedge and the boat was locked down like crazy so we then re-installed the wedge and that helped loosen it up some but it was still pretty planted and no signs of porpoising so I then took the bosses down like I do on my modded plates and that seemed to help a bit and we filnaly started seeing the benefits of the oo plate over the modded closed loop plate I did. However different boats react different so you'll just have to try it and see if you like it. You can always shim it to fine tune.

At 85 MPH I can trim all the way up without porposing, I think it could take more angle on the outside edge of the Open loop plate plate. I want to set-up it up just like the closed loop mod but on a OO plate, just looking to see if anyone else has tried and what there results were.
My bosses are still at the OEM heigth, untouched.
