    xlt won't stop

I have a 2002 xlt1200. If I start the ski and just let it idle the kill switch will cut off the engine - but if I give it gas the Idle jumps up about 500 rpm and when I hit the kill switch the idle will lower but the ski keeps running. Only way to kill it is to choke it out.
    - another post stated his problem was a bad fuse
    - repair manual says its the CDI

Can anyone help with this issue

I have noticed a power drop before this incident and one time I was out riding and the ski just died like the lanyard was pull. It started right up and ran for about 5 minutes and the same thing, started right up again. Had it out a couple of times after that with no issues but only rode it for about 30 minutes each time, though

    Welcome along!

Check your start stop switch for corrosion and if nothing is found there also check all your electrical connections
