    Installed valve stem height specs??

I have my head in the shop for a valve job,and surface, and the machine shop will need to know the installed valve stem height/lash specs when assembled.

I know there is no lash per say, as the rockers are hydralic, & not adjustable. I looked threw all the tech specs, and the installation, and removal procedures, and can't find any reference to this. It shows valve guide installed height, and valve width, and diameter, and wear limits, but no installed valve stem height. Am I missing it somewhere?

    Thanks , jason

Psycho, when I had my Ferrea valves installed, the machine shop asked the same question ... it is just not in the manual anywhere, I looked many times. He tipped my Ferrea valves to exactly match the length of my stock '05 valves since the Ferreas were slightly longer, .020" longer I think. Depending on year and which valves you go with, they may possibly be slightly different lengths.

Thanks vern. I told him to try to match the stock height as close as possible. They did my head last time, and did a good job, so hoping to get the same thing this time. I think I asked Chezzy last time , and he knew the right specs.

Gonna give this thread a bump, my 07 head is in the shop right now to get the valves touched up and the guides changed. The manual doesnt say anthing about it so that should mean that the installed height would not matter!? If there is a spec and someone knows it let me know

I was told by nills here on the board, that it would have to be way off for it to cause problems. Since it uses hyd. tappets they compensate for most installed height specs. So just tell them to measure the existing installed heights, and try to match it as closely to them as possible.
