Why wouldn't you--you already made the purchase. Are you considering sending it back unused?

I installed the Riva Performance HKS BOV Kit on my ski. From the research I did, the HKS sounded like the best BOV. However, it's $100 more than the one you have.

One thing, though--you almost have to get into a bad habbit of chopping out of the throttle really fast (and at high enough RPM's) to hear the noise everyone talks about coming from the BOV doing its thing (the whistle sound). When I purchased my FZS, I was scared that I would take out my SC clutch and got into the habbit of chopping out of the throttle slowly. When I installed the BOV I had to "make" myself blip the throttle if I wanted to hear the BOV.

If those are your current mods the BOV is just insurance. I don't think it's necessary. I haven't heard of a clutch failure with stock boost.

lol that is so true for me too, I've run for about 7 hours with the Riva B wheel and no BOV Well at least the I/C should be here today so I can finally get around to getting it installed.

Even when I was still using the stock SC, I could hear compressor surge after adding the power filter...& it got worse after installing the manifold upgrade. It is good insurance IMO & worked fine for me, even with the C1. I say throw that sucker on. I did a back to back test using a Dynotune boost gauge & had identical readings(no boost loss) with the R&D BOV kit & the OEM SC hose. Throttle response is definately better with an HKS, but I had no issues with the Bosch vave. If you decide to get an HKS later, you can use this adaptor to install it to your R&D hose:

Here's a pic of the adaptor & HKS installed...
