    GP1200 intake grate mod.

I have 2 GP1200's and they both run over 60 mph,I have 1 aftermarket intake grate and 1 OEM intake grate, the OEM one is not safe over 60 mph on either of my skis.
I am looking on information about cuting the 2 center bars from the grate who has tried this and was it safe.
I tried a OEM grate with a stock plate (long) on my 97 and it stufed the pump at 60+ mph
I tried a OEM grate with a R&D plate on my 99 and it bucked bad at 60+ mph.
I was going to cut the stock intake grate to see if it stoped the stuf or the buck but if it had been done with negative results I might not bother
So who has tried this and did it work

I wish I had the money to fix it all I have is the Front section and the rear section left the center section is gone Ill take pics for you

This grate was amazing for hook up handling and top end.
Pilo how about I send it to you and you get it welded up for me when I get the parts I need.

It looks like I need a pro tec toploader and a riva superjet ? I think.
A litle grinding pin them together and weld them then a litle grinding to finish it off

Heres pics of whats left of the custon grate

No one ran a stock grate that had the middle bars cut out ???

I got a package today I thought it was some cylinders but instead it was some crusty carbs.I might send them to oside to rehab them.
I havent looked inside them to see what they look like yet either.
Looks like the cylinders will be here any day now.
I also have new YD SC XI 14.5-20.5 for sale $100 shipped

What exactly happened to that grate? And if it broke why do you want to duplicate it?

I dont know exactly what happened to it but it happened in shallow water.
I want to duplicate it because it was an AWESOME all around grate.
