Rad 4 Racing water bomb!!
Any one looking for temp control out of the head for open loop systems may consider this idea. This is the Rad 4 Racing "Water bomb" or in laymans terms a place to put your thermostat.
Outlet is 3/4 and inlet goes straight on to the stock black hose off the head.
Easy install....No maintenance required!

This looks like a good idea but you would not be able to run the water route the way JD does as it would be stopping the flow to the exhaust and oil cooler when the thermo is closed.
You would have to have either 2 supply lines or T the supply line so that 1 t would go to engine, out of the head and to the Water Bomb thermo then be pissered off, then the other side of the T would feed the intercooler and onto the exhaust.
You would have to test to find the best way to supply the oil cooler, I would think using some of the water coming out of the head would be favourite Maybe you could utalise the port that would normally go to the overflow tank that comes out by the temp sensor. R88

I would think you just take one of the feed lines to the exhaust manifold and then oil cooler line off of the bottom of the J pipe or exhaust mani and then go to the oil cooler.
2nd feed line to the Open loop plate and out the head to the Bomb.
I guess we would need to bleed pressure when this thing is closed?

Very nice. Much better than always having to adjust water flow manually.
Could this also be used on closed loop cooling? Remove t-stat in housing reassemble without t-stat then use this in line instead?
