let me ask a question, maybe u or someone would know... are the threads on gap caps different for each manufacturer? would that fit on a Doo?

i bought a used ski, and the original owner relocated the gas cap to a location i'm not to fond of, the OEM cap is hideous, so i'm at a loss. Either glass the hole and put it back to stock or find a cosmetically pleasing AM cap.

The caps are different even within some manufacturers from year to year. Polaris is a good example, 3 different threads that I'm aware of and maybe even more. It's funny as technology increased so did the type of sealing system on gas caps. It's good to know the manufacturers realize water is our friend but our engines enemy. I have that carbon fiber cap on my triple piped SLTX, I'm sure it's heavier than stock and you would need to change the filler neck to the PRO785 style.

so then if i pulled out the whole filler neck and put a new bulkhead fitting or whatever that has the threads on it i could have more options...

Exactly right. I had to bore the hole and rivet the unit into place but certainly no biggie.
