ride plate goop
got my riva plate....got mine off tonight ...what a pain in the butt getting the filled ride plate holes ..unfilled...
what is the best way to remove all the goop??? razer blade???
and what should i reseal it with just black silicone rtv???

and i go t a x plate ..for my rxp anyone have a pic of the mod to the bottom of the ski that is neccisary to fit it

Take a torch and heat the jb weld in the ride plate holes comes out like butter once you heat it do not melt it just heat it a little and hit with a chisel.

crap that would have been alot easier...than the 2 hours i spent with a pick...all is good,,,, it will help the next guy thanks

If you put rope around the bolt heads before filling the holes they will pop out alot easier. I ussualy just carefuly use a razor blade to remove the old sealant and right stuff to re-install the plate.
Also, to install the x plate on your ski you will just need to cut the 2 bosses that the grate bolts to off the pump shoe. Now those 2 bolts will go directly into the ride plate. You will also need to do some grinding on the grate to get it to sit flush with the plate. Also, I ussualy use some 2 part epoxy to fill in the voids in the pump shoe to make it stronger.
