gp 800 to 1200 engine
I have a 99 gp 800 and i blew the motor, and I was wondering exactly what I would have to switch over to put a 1200 motor in my ski, or if its even possible, my friend has a has a 1200 that he messed the hull up real bad on that he will sell me really cheap, thats why i'm wondering if this can be done, if so would I just have to switch the motor, or does more have to be done. Any help will be great.

If its a 97 -99 GP1200 motor it will drop right in but you will need to swap all electric components and the pump as well.
If you have a 1200 motor and a donor hull for the other parts they will all drop into your 99 hull easy enough.
Get er done

check the motor mount locations. the distance on the 66E's are usually 6 inches shorter than the 1200's unless the older skies are same locations. I only know the 2000's and ups and they are different, I would figure the 98's have the same issue.

Mount locations are already taped in the runners.

Wow, your lucky I wanted to put an 1300 engine in my 800 xlt and for some reason they fitted the center mount pad holes for the 1200 but no motor mount holes go figure!!

Trim and steering cables are also different.
