    carbs on a 97 sl1050 help.

    my buddy has a stock 97 sl1050 and he bought a set of carbs from a 98 1050 to put on it .he wanted the carbs with the accelarator pump .my question is do we have to change the jetting . thanks

    rejet,your fixing to do what happened to wetherby's motor,non boost port carbs on a boost port motor,i believe wetherby has the specs,by the way are those 40mm keihins your going to install???

    I want those carbs!!!!!!

    And I happen to have a set w/acc pump to trade.
    And yes, you will have to re-jet it. 65-lows 42-mids and stock jetting on top. This jetting is for the set with the pump.

    EDIT: are those slxh carbs, or sltx?

    Tx Yes They Are 40 Keihins, What Do You Think I Should Jet Them At . Thanks .

    Just realized that the 98 did have the pump. Jetting specs are as mentioned above.

    It's the stock 97 carbs I want.

    Wetherby Let Me See What My Buddy Wants To Do With The Old Ones .there Like New But For Somereason They Always Had A Bogg In Them And He Didnt Want To Mess With Them .i'll Let You Know .thanks

    Hmmnnnn 97 SLTX carbs? I have some that need a little fixin as I've robbed a few parts from them.

    Thanks Al, but the 97 SL 1050 carbs should be 40's with 2-jet metering blocks. Same thing that woke up the Hurricane.

    97 SLTX carbs were 38mm Keheins. In 98 they went to the 40's.

    Are you saying that 97 SL1050's were 40's?

    the 97 sl1050 came with the 40mm and the 97 sltx had 38mm for some reason.
