No issues really. Motors are solid wether it be 4.8 or 5.3. Easy to work on and easy to mod. On a good day I could squeeze 19-20 highway out of my truck. Intake, exhaust, tuned myself with EFILive. (Mine is an 04 but still same dam motor minus AFM)

    Thumbs up

99 Silverado here. 160K miles, no problems. first year of the 5.3, good motor.

I really like the body style of the newer ones.

+1 '04 Sierra Crew Cab Z-71. I really like the new body style but I'm nearing 100K and haven't had prob. one. The truck is like my skis - bone stock, but bullet proof (so far).

I have an 08 crew cab 1500 shortbed. I love it. ride is much better than the classic models. My only complaint is that you cant switch on or off the 4 cylinder mode. its automatic. its not really a gas saver but if you have a heavy foot you will never see 4 cylinder mode. oh, and if you have anything over 18" rims...you will not see 4 cylinder mode unlesss you are going down hill. Also if you like exhaust. you should probably get the truck that doesnt have this option. it sounds like its backfiring when it has true duals and goes into 4 cylinder mode. (just my observation)
Also, get at least an LT2 the seats are much better. The LT2 comes with front buckets as the LT1 comes with a split bench 60/20 deal...I never liked that. if you get the LTZ that has the best interior. I think that it also comes with the 6.0. I cant confirm that tho.
Best option that I have...heated windshield wiper fluid! I dont get the point of it but i have it as an option

that is my exact truck. It's been awesome so far. No issues and good fuel economy.... about as good as you can expect from a truck.

Very comfy and rides like a dream.

love my 08 extended 4x4 5.3 (AFM flex fuel motor)

put rims and tires on it, dual magnaflow catback, Cold air intake, DVD/navi and subs and crap..... would like to get a tune sometime, just haven't had time to look into it.

ton of fun to drive. it's pretty quick. the exhaust sounds insane, love it..... i think i have mine setup pretty attractively but not over the top. get lots of compliments about it all the time when i'm driving it around.... i get shitty fuel economy bc i can't help but beat the living piss out of it all the time... it's a wide open pull out of my block each morning to wake up the neighbors, and wide open on every on-ramp... and maybe wide open out of each stop sign too.... only 15k miles on it so far, so i wouldn't expect any problems
