    What would happen if? Pipe

What would happen if on a GPR you removed the D-plate,let that area remain open and restrict the exhaust at the stinger just before the water box? kinda like a kawasaki OEM exhaust, most all there 2 stroke pipes are really small at the stinger end.anyone ever tried this? just curious!!!

Nothing is designed for that. The d-plate is already proven to work. Thats like trying to reinvent the wheel.

Don't know how it would work, but on ported ski's and on the big bores the D-plate is being opened up to allow more flow. Remember the d-plates were made for 1200cc - 1300cc. The one in yours is probably already modded.

Yep I opened mine up .200 from original on my ported 1300 it worked fine. the bigger you go the more bottom end, but you start to lose topend, it is a tricky balance for sure.

Honestly,I have no idea what d plate i have!! when i purchased my pipe the dplate was already in it and i have NO idea which one it is the RIVA or the R&D! i did take it out and look at it but didnt measure the opening, I do know its modded though,,, it has the D shaped opening in it but it also has a round hole machined direcly in the middle about the size of a quarter. i never new what the hole was for nor did i ask..when kerry built my motor i dont think he ever saw this dplate!!!!heck now that i think about what Oside bill just stated about loosing top speed if your opening is to big,,could explain why my rpm`s are a lil higher and my top speed is a lil slower than others with the exact same 1456 bb i have with pretty much the same set up!!!! im taking it out while i have my top end off just to see what i do have.Kevin(water woody) is cutting and assembling my new riva gas valves so now is a good time to check it out.

The expansion chamber on the stock pipe is big, but I'm wondering what would happen if it were even larger. Could you close the gap with the triples...
