Check my C.Tech reeds with 41hrs!!!

Check out my Carbon Tech reeds that I just pulled from my 01 GPR with 100 hrs on it, In the past few months I have lost some bottom end. Is this normal wear? Check out the pics...These are only a few pics but all of them have some damage in the corners, I can see light goin in two of the cages. Like in one of the pics.

Could this be the problem? is it time for some VF3s?

Junk! I used them once in the skis and never would use them again. For a budget go with the thicker dual stage carbon reed for boyesen. If you want the best go with Moto tassinari. I tried using the carbon tech reeds in the sleds and have had the same problems. I use the moto reeds all around now. But dont forget the budget reeds are boyesen all the way.

do you guys run those reeds with a spacer plate? wonder if getting the reeds further out of the boost ports would help them last longer...

Good point drew. I pulled them out and still had problems. I have talked it over with lowell about it. He told me he was having the same problem on a particular sled.

From then on I just chose to save up a bit a get some moto tassinari reeds.

Are those the LT or the HT. The LT dont last long. I have had the Ht for around 60 hrs, but I Have not checked them recently. I have to see about the V force III. I just have to see what companies sell them.

Good point...the LT Carbon Techs don't like higher rpm...In applications that rev over 7000, I'd go HT, if you want to use this particular brand.
