I recently picked up a used but fairly new Triton Elite 4-place trailer with the surge brakes and whatnot. Actually the first time i towed it was when i picked it up in Minnesota and dragged it back to New York a little over 1200 miles about 2 weeks ago.

that 4-place trailer tows better than both my single and my double trailers easily. it's big, it hurts the fuel economy for sure, but it towed like a dream! I was pulling that trailer behind a Toyota Sequoia at 95+ mph a few times with no problem or hesitancy. Trailer stayed straight as an arrow and truthfully takes some of the bumps better than the car! All my trailers are leaf sring, so this is the first torsion axle trailer i've owned... huge difference.

with FOUR 4-tecs, i'd make sure you paid close attention to tires, axles, and load capacities... you'll be towing around about 5000 lbs with those skis and a trailer, so brakes on the trailer would be smart unless you have a real heavy duty tow vehicle.

    Thanks Shibby,
I already tow a 6 place enclosed sled trailer so the tow vehicle will handle a 4 place trailer. I was looking for some real world experience. How is at launch and load time? Are you keeping the trailer or are you planning on selling it?

    Green_head - me again!

Launch is amazingly fast. Just pull the pins on the two rear bow posts and slide the front skis in the water. I only back up once and then put all four skis in the water. A guy the other day watching me put them back on the trailer said he was impressed with how fast I loaded four skis up!

What's the overall length of that trailer setup including the ski overhang on the back?

Very nice trailer. What is it made out of? Are there fuel jugs in the front? I could not tell by the picture. This is what Ph2ocraft Al needs. Then I could get my 2 place back from him.
