    Sta-bil?

So im wondering, I filled up my 96xp with 110 octane in September. I have not been able to ride it since because of all the chit i have going on. My question is, if i put sta-bill in the fuel tank how much octane loss will i see when April comes around next year?

    Thanks
    Mike

thats a lonnggg time, I dont think stabil can hold gas fresh for that long. gas shelf life is only 90 days, + however much stabil promises to keep it fresh for. I would say drain it. IMO

i feel you man, i got my gsx with a full tank all the way to the top. and weather is been shitty and cold. i think i'm S.O.L. on that gas

Sta-Bil can keep fresh pump gasoline stable for a long time, much more than six months. As long the fuel tank is not contaminated and is not open to the atmosphere.

110 octane - is that race gas?

Race gas is a different discussion, and can degrade fairly quickly. I don't know whether Sta-Bill would be able to maintain race gas, nor for how long.

You could ask the fuel supplier, or call the fuel manufacturer directly.

Yeah that gas is $5.50 a gallon LOL, i could always take it out and put it in my Toro lawn mower and then the snowblower in the winter...I think i'll mill the head on both of them to take advantage of the 110 octane..

Hey Ultra, can't you ride all year in Texas? there is the Rio Grande that should be warm, just watch out for heads bobbing up!

I have heard that the UK is alot more for gas. I can only imagine when the price of standard 93 octane was $4.25 last summer in my neck of the woods. The price is slowly going up, where i live they are going to start selling winter blend fuel cause of the cold. It is a lil cheaper, but my ski's will be in storage go figure..

best thing with race gas such as the C-12 and stuff I use is to drain it from the "plastic" tanks and store it in Airtight "metal" containers. in a cool dry place..

It will last and last in METAL cans, that is why VP ships it in metal drums..

    good luck
