Stock prop with a one degree increase on the back side (with a nod to RQ). IMO, this is the best overall prop to run on an XPL.

Get rid of that R&D grate. My RX has GPSed at 60 with a Worx grate and half a tank of gas (it is straight up stock).

I am running a modified Worx grate with a stock pitch '98 XPL prop on my '99. It has stock compression and a bit tighter than stock squish and Proks (with carbs re-jetted). It will run 63 with 1/4 of a tank of fuel.

I have a stock prop to pitch but have not had a chance to do so and get it installed (it is on the winter list).

You will speed up if you go back to the stock grate. I like the handling with the Worx grate and we tweaked it to get some of the speed back (and lost a little in the rough).

How fast your boat goes with the prop pitched will depend on how strong your engine is and just how good the hull is (they are different, no two the same, and some are faster than others).

I saw your post after I had posted and figured it was up already so let it ride.

We pretty much said the same thing.

You were first to say, I do believe.

Are you keeping your motor stock? I get 64.5 GPS out of my XP and I weigh in at 290 Lbs give or take I have mostly Bens mods Solas impeller Head ProK filters and jetted I havent checked the timing advance for sure, but I think its advanced. I did go with 170 mains instead of the 167.5s just because we ride long rides at WOT and with Maine being cooler and colder water temps I was scared. I really think if I did some trueing on the hull put my girlfriend on (because I doubt I am going to lose 170 Lbs right off) and jetted it to the 167.5's I could squeeze out another 1 Mph or so, but its been sooooo reliable and fast I havent bothered. Its my understanding though if you dont do the other work the Solas is not good only if you do the engine mods as well.
