A word of warning to all those rebuilding to not only check the gap with a gauge while installing, but also check to have the same gap at the anti- rotation pins for clearence ....

Rings I was installing measured good but while inspecting them installed on the piston ,noticed that the reliefs cut in the ring for the pin where not finished properly ..as a check i tried to install one as is with an unmounted piston..sure enough it would not fit properly into the bore...

A light dressing with a file fixed it right up and when assembled, spring tension was checked thru rhe exhaust port ,indicating proper float and tension.

It's little uncommon things like this that stick a ring ,bust a piston and ruin your day..

Please address this while rebuilding this winter!!!
