its ok to vent, but why is your ski cover not fiting?
i have a oem sea doo cover and it still fits but it is tight especially with the extended finger throttle.
loosen the elastic on your cover it will be much easier and if still tight add some elastic to is.
as for your sea doo not comming off the trailer ajust your trailer front attatchement and add some marine spray on your bunks that sea doo will come off the trailer before you even say ........

Odd mine comes right off the trailer and the OEM cover grabs right on to the front bumper as well. Are you abcking the trailer into the water enough? I know I back mine pretty far in to get it on and of fthe trailer with teh gaurd on. And I wouldn't ride without it every little bit helps on these skis.
