    Fuji Blue

Not sure if this has been answered before, didn't find it in the search. Apologies if it has.

What is the best color match for the Fuji blue engines? Do I need to use high temp paint? I happened to score a ported PRO 785 crankcase and want to match it to the rest of my blue parts.

Ford engine blue is the closest color match we've found.

Ford engine blue....I think I saw some of that in a high temp engine enamel in a spray can.

Any special prep needed? Special primers? I have not had great success with spray can paint jobs sticking in the past.

    For that ultimate SLEEPER effect...

If I dont go with aftermarket heads, I will even keep the 650 rail on top!

Just a word of wisdom regarding paint from a rattle can, it looks really nice at first but it generally doesn't hold up real well. Even spraying your engine with silicone spray that uses the new so called "environmentally friendly propellants," can disolve or soften the paint and makes it look dull. You are much better off using a 2 part enamel with hardner type paint that comes in every color imaginable. It's more money and work to do but it results in a beautiful and long lasting finish. Just my opinion.

Right on, I found some Duplicolor engine paint earlier today. I will have to go back and see if they have 'Old Ford Blue'

as Hayabusa said though, it's not going to be like showroom new finish...the parts have to be very well cleaned and roughed up and even then it will likely flake off again later.

in my case I left the old paint on and did some light sanding and mucho degreasing...for the most part it is working but I don't expect it to last. I don't really care so much about what it looks like but since I had the engine apart and the paint was cheap, what the heck.
