Carb Rebuild Q (photos) - PTO Carb (787)

    gents,
i have bought 2 carb rebuild kits, and am installing it for a 787 Seadoo GTX.

I have followed the diagram below (the right side of it) while rebuilding the MAG carb, and it was the same as what was in the carb.. no issues here :

However, on the PTO carb, i cannot work out what gaskets are required..
when i opened up my PTO carb, i found just the rubber ring thingy (part 6a in the above) and then the cover. See below for photo.

Do i need a gasket between the rubber and the casing? like 5a in the above photo?)

    Thanks for any help.

    Tony

i believe you do. strange it was not in there. your rebuild kit should have the correct gasket included

    Tony,

There isn't a gasket there, the oring does the sealing. The carbs are made to be disassembled and cleaned without ever replacing a gasket.

I run into that same thing last night... I was taking the carbs apart on my `96 HX 720. I finally got the cover off of the PTO side and there was no gasket there. The o-ring is all it needs for sealing.
