    Oil temp sensor location

I have the location picked out to monitor oil temps with my new dyno tune gauge...

I chose the spot right next to the oil filler neck on the front of the block, right near the gas tank.

There is currently just a allen head plug in that location... I think it's 1/2" NPT.

I want to make sure that there is no moving parts under that plug that will destroy my temp sensor...

I have the brass 1/2" to 1/4" reducer and it's going to take very slight grinding to make it fit there... want to make sure I'm solid putting it there before I start to grind

I am surprised the sender isn't 1/8 npt. Just double check it.

The SENDER is 1/8, or can also be 1/4, but I'm talking about the hole in the block...

The answer needed is at my chosen location, is there any need to worry about how far the temp sensor goes INTO the block?

Is that to fool the ECU?

Are you running open loop cooling?
