    Pella 6000 oil extractor=junk

Man I bought a Pella 6000 oil extractor back at the end of June... I'm getting around to changing my oil, it's black and nasty (05 R-12x Honda)... This oil pump blows. I thought I had my ski warmed up and went to suction it out... so slow... and it wasn't about to pull all of it out. So I dumped what I had back in, started my ski on the hose again to make sure it was warm... same thing. I'm severly disapointed in this 60 buck piece of junk.

    What do you guys use?

i bought a sea dog electric oil pump at the local marine store for about 19.00 it pumps about 4 qts of oil in 3 min and comes with the tubes.if you drill a hole in a gallon jug and use a tie wrap on either end of the cap you can see how much oil you pulled out.

I use a Moeller extractor that you can buy at West Marine or Riva. Works well and no issues ever.

Harbor Freight. A little over-kill but it work great. Got it on sale for $99.00.

Are you still using this pump Joe? Still the way to go in your opinion?

I was going to do the extractor mity something or other. The one that I could hook up to my air compressor but if this one works well then I'll go with that.

yes i am still using the sea dog pump with a washer fluid jug attached and marked for 4 quarts at 1 quart intervals.it makes it easy to see how much oil i get out of the ski and the boat.just drill a hole in the cap of the bottle and put a zip tie on either side of the tube once it is in the cap.that way it wont come out or spill.

i saw the one for the air compressor imo it seems a little complicated i just hook this one to the battery and flip the switch.they are also cheap enough and come with the clip leads for hook up.on your boat to get the most oil out tilt the nose down a little.it works great.
