Now THAT is tempting! Even though I would need a stator and flywheel as well to make it work on my project....TEMPTING!

Can you run these things without a MFD? Or is that kinda necessary for the CDI's from ski's that had them?

Thanks Kevin for the link. I most certainly will need those instructions next spring when I start putting all my new mods into my 1996 780SLX. I read somewhere that the PRO CDI is not a direct fit into the box but it can be made to fit. I might consider building my own box out of PVC or carbon fiber to cleanup the spaghetti electronics and make it lighter, time permitting. Anyway that is going in the ski in spring with all my other mods. I am going to install in some type of order to compare changes with each modification so I know exactly the impact of that mod instead of putting in all the parts at one time. Parts to be added in spring are jetworks valve, regular 4 degree wedge(not twisted), 6 vane stator, PRO 97 CDI, PRO carbs 44mm with PRO manifold, RAD lighweight flywheel, hot seat water box, maybe solid coupler. I think that covers everything other than bored nozel and exhaust. I like acceleration better than top speed and I understand that my exhaust is tuned better for that so that will probably be unchanged unless I find a better alternative. I will probably bore my nozel.

That's quite a build. Very similar to the one I was doing at first under my ride zzzzzz.

Thing you may not need would be the 44mm carbs. Starflight is running the stock 38's on his triple piped 780 after a post about 44's being too big for that small of a motor. Just throwing that out there.

If you decide to run 44's, I have 2 sets for sale. Red Tops, and Rifle Bores.

I'd add performance reeds to that list as well.

    Possibly high compression heads too.

And I'd definately go with the SS coupler. It weighs about 1-2 lbs lighter than the rubber one.
