    Air Intake SHO Cruiser

I tried searching and couldn't find anything specifically on this

R&D SHO Power Plenum Flame Arrester (stock air box with new filter)
    vs
RIVA SHO / FZ Performance Power Filter Kit (filter plus new piping)

Are there any real gains with using one over the other?

Most popular one on here is the Riva intake, it's what pretty much all of us here in cayman are using also. It has a superior design over the R&D IMO.

I haven't used the R & D but it looks like it would be a ton easier to put back to stock.

But when you change the oil filter the Riva gives a ton more access to that area.

I went with the Riva for what it's worth. If JD's intake would've been for sale when I purchased mine, I would've went with his.

    My .02.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just thinking is it worth +$250 for a pipe and a filter for the performance you gain. If the gains aren't that much I would much prefer to just drop in an aftermarket air filter like the R&D one.

I'm not looking for the cheap way out just don't want to spend money because I can.

i have a question and figured i would just add it to this thread. When installing the Riva Filter do you have to remove the black air hoses? I cant seem to get around the one on the left side. The instructions don't say anything about removing them.

My personal opinion is that you get better air flow with the pipe versus just the filter. Enough to be worth it definitely.
