That is crazy to me. I thought the stock class was created to allow racers the opportunity to compete on near stock boats to level the playing field financially. That seems like alot of money to make a competitive race boat. With the ecu being allowed it seems unfair. I know how fast an fzr will run with those parts and nothing else truly stock is going to touch it.

    Talking

off topic...ECU should have never been allowed as a stock mod. a 3k part is by far NOT stock! Just my .02...couple hundred doller bolt on's fine, but a part that costs 3k is ridiculous for the STOCK class!

    Thumbs up integrity

The reason for the allowance is due to people cheating and not keeping things stock. It also comes from races also re-flashing stock looking ECU's to gain a competitive advantage by cheating. This a problem that is difficult and expensive to police the issue bodies of the IJSBA and the APBA allowed them to level the playing field.
So the few cheaters ruined it for the more frugal box stock racing.

Handeling components were always allowed that is purely a safety thing. Try riding stock(spin out machine around the buoys ,not very fun been there done that (anx X pkg is not truly a stock boat)
So it is not a case of selling more parts to make stock racing more expensive.

Racing stock is ideally supposed to comprised of equal boats (parody). Where skill and experience make and break the racing.

So for the honest truth if you want to be competitive we must pay up. Along time ago stock cars used to come off of show room floors...

from what i understand, there were the same cheating issues here in my state and that in time, ruined local racing.

its only jsut been bought back to life a year or so ago for local racing and i hope the old cheaters of the past stay retired.

The stock class world champions rode RXP-X's this year. The FZR's could not beat them. But I think next season the FZR riders will have more seat time and do some real damage next season at the World Finals. And to answer the question about blow off vavles you only can run that in OPEN class. It is a old rule that will probably get updated so that LIMITED class can run blow off vavles.

I believe stock should be bone stock. From the factory. However, stock class is making a comeback.
