    GPR Pro-tec CDI box????

I bought this off a guy on Ebay.I was told its a moded GP1200r CDI box! Said its a plug in mod. Adds RPM's. I received it an it looks like a stock CDI box with the corner cut out and re silicone with black silicone. There is also a Pro-Tec decal on front. My ? is few people told me they haven't heard of Pro-Tec doing this to stock CDI boxes. Has anybody had this done or heard of this being done? If you have what where the gains? RPM's ? Rev Limits? Please let me know I want to install this just wanted more info on it. Thanks For any help!!!! Frank

Go to the pro-tec site it shows the mods to the curve.

it raises timing in the single pipe lean rpm range (6500 - 7000) so give it more fuel

    thanks for the info

i have bought a set also off ebay....and when i got it..i was kinda mad cause i didn't know what it was....thanks for the explaining. i am wondering HOW much differece will it produce since the only mods i see is 5000 to 7000 rpm timing. although i wonder what the upper RPM differances are....7300 stock right?...and iread 8100 with this box...Hmm...i wish i had the money to get my crap running..LOL..

Bill need help in answering this or correct me if I am wrong but I thought pro-tec took out the rev limiter and in other words "stretched the curve" to 8000 rpms. I didnt think they advanced or retarted the curve at all.(from stock form) I could be wrong.
