Info on extended warranty
Hello all. I haven't even asked my dealer yet, as I want to have some negotiating weapons: how much should I be paying for extended warranty???
I am looking at a 09 FX HO. Are there different amounts of time (2 yr, 3 yr, etc.) that you can purchase? Is it a "bumper to bumper" type warranty?
Please give me some advice based on your experiences.

as with all new purchases the first year is the man. warranty, afterthat its up to you, how many years. There is no deductible on yamahas, but whats not covered are rideplate, intake grate, impeller etc.,since these are , "wear and tear" idems.BUT ONCE YOU START "MODING" A SKI. porting , throttle boddies, reeds, premix etc.,etc, common sense says you,ve voided the warranty, that the decision you make,BTW, if lets say your glove comp. lock comes off, like mine has, i,m sure, they will get you another one free of charge,no matter if you worked on the engine, but why do most of us get warranties for the "mechanicals"

I almost never buy an extended warranty. Yamaha has a history of not honoring their warranties and you often have to fight to get them to cover something.
This subject has come up a lot on the Yamaha Jetboaters board.
