Here's a pic of my new intercooler. Does the direction of the waterflow through the intercooler matter?

Not really... most will say. But I prefer it to fill from the lowest point... the rear. That way the water has to be forced up through the core, and not just run down hill... so to speak.
The red couplers, and valve cover looks great

Looks great, I will add that I put a bleed line in all my XS IC's

Tks guys wait till im done the exhaust, I got some 2.75 tubing and same red hoses and clamps to get rid of that big ugly black hose.
I was think through the back is best then out the front and a strait shot around the motor and the the manifold. I also am doing the intercooler bleed mod.

Just be sure that the IC inlet hose in the rear is not kinked when the IC is mounted... as you have to clamp it before mounting it. Ohhh... and make sure you put a bolt in the open hole where there is not a bracket Sounds stupid to mention that... I know, but people have left it out

Ya i got the bolts just have to make up a 2nd braket as i ride alot of ruff water and need more support.

You gotta have this bracket then However... it's another $225 and the plumbing changes a little
