    XPL seat removal

    Hi All,

Just wondering if someone could give me a quick how to pull the seat of a XPL. I've had it of the front and swung it around on the shock when doing the fuel lines but I believe I have to have it all the way off to install jettrim cover in the next day or so

    Any help well appreciated,

    Chris

If I remember correctly there is only one bolt holding it on the shock. That and the front pivots is all there is to it.

Now, getting that bolt back in at the shock, that is a bit of fun.

shock bolt at the bottom of seat or at the top mate?¿ As in do I get at it from the bilge section or do I undo that black cover under the back of the seat ect....

    More descriptive please

Im sure its not hard to find, im just trying to reduce the time it takes me to install as im MEANT to be studying for exams atm... not installing turf, seat covers and sponsons :P

Loosen the clamp that holds the seat accordian boot up at the top(under the seat). Then remove the bottom shock bolt inside the hull. Lift off, the inner boot and shock assembly will slip right up through the outer boot. The front two are self explanatory.

I took the boot clamp off the top, pulled the boot down and took the bolt out at the top of the shock.

Pulling the bottom bolt on the shock and thus the shock out with the seat may be easier, though.

It really was a PITA to get that bolt back in the top of the shock.

I looked at that too Krunch, and decided bottom-dwelling would be better...

Sweet, hopefully the cover arrives today and I can put it on in the next few days Should i remove all the old staples from holding the stock cover on?

Im aware im stapling the new cover over the top of the old one... And yes I will use Stainless staples in the stapler.

If you remove the old staples, wouldn't you think it would shift and wrinkle up under the new cover, if you did? So, the answer would be no...
