need advice on pump combo for a 2000 gp1200r

i have owned a few gpr's, couple of 2000 1200's and a 1300r in my life, but now i have a 2000 gp1200r that i want to start from scratch.
i got this ski cheap with a seized engine. the pump binds a little.
my plan is to start with the hull and the handling. since i also brought a 2001 xl800 cheap.. i am embarking on the pump first.
i have: the stock 2000 pump, the complete pump from the xl800, and i brought a complete pump from ebay for a 2003 1300r.

what is the best combo of the pump parts to get the best performance. i ride in the ocean so i want to focus on hook up and turning, not top speed.

i know the 2003 1300r has the pump extension, and that i need the inner mid shaft and coupler.. but what i am confused about is the exit nozzle... is the oem 1200r exit nozzle better for the 1300r pump or is the xl's (same as the xlt) exit nozzle better? all this talk of 3 degrees, 5 degrees this and that.. and then there is a 2 degree pump wedge too???

    very very confused...

I agree about getting an 05+ pump. They are the best for the money. Better pumps out there... but it will cost you.

    Welcome to the Hulk..

The best combo IMO with the parts you have is find any 02+ midshaft and bolt on either the 00 or 03 pump and extension with a good Nujet prop and call it a day. The 05+ pump is a good mod but IMO not worth the $$$ the early pumps can an will post some good ###.

You also could stick to the 00-01 midshaft and short pump but you will loose some rough water handling.

My 1200 only gained .5 MPH with the 05+ pump. the 2" extension made more of a difference then the large hub. (Never under estimate the Nujet prop)

    Welcome to the forum.
The 05-08 pump is what you want as mentioned above.

On my Stage II 1200R, I seen a good increase in speed from the addition of the 05 pump.

+1 i did not get great gains from the HO pump on my xlt so spend the money on other things you need like a good ride plate, intake grate, pump shoe kit and prop. Ron

thanks for the advices so far.. i think it was hard enough to find an 03 pump.. let alone try to find a 05+ pump.
i want to stick with what i have already, but cause my 2000 pump binds, i am thinking of using the 2003 pump. but which nozzle should i use?
i read that people use the xlt pump nozzle, but also heard people switching a 2003 pump nozzle back to an earlier gpr one. the three all have different part numbers...
i plan on getting the 03 1300r ride plate, r&d extended tabs, and a grate. get a hole shot kit.. and call it a day.
