    Tested springwashers for supercharger

Today i tested 3 different types of springwashers for the supercharger.

I wanted to know the difference in slipmoment.

All was tested on a brand new x-supercharger.

The gear side of supercharger was oiled according spec, and turned 10 times counterclockwise, before testing slipmoment.

    Tested were:

    Oem clutch washers 12 nm +- 9 lb/ft

    Leespring springwashers 12 nm +- 9 lb/ft

    Mc Master springwashers 17.5 nm +- 13 lb/ft

Conclusion the oem and leespring washers are the same.

The mcmaster washers are the strongest, and have the max slip according seadoo spec that's 17 nm.

I think i don't tell anything new,but i had the time,so why not test it.

    Let's hope it's usefull.

Good info Rich. My slip moment with OEM washers was 9.8lb/ft after rebuild. I rearranged the sequence of the washers a bit though and got it to 13lb/ft but will trade up to mcmaster when i can be stuffed pulling it.

The McMasters are the best, just wanted some comparisons to be sure which were best.
The Leespring are from Britain, almost same spec as the Mc Masters, loadrange is a bit lower, which the test proved to be true.
Good thing you will use the mcMasters next time you pull the charger.
