    Riva power filter ?s rxp-x

Hey guys im getting a riva 3 inch filter for christmas and have a couple of ?s. Does the k&n filter require to be oiled to prevent dust or any dangerous material from getting into it??
My big ? is i am considering putting flo rite vents next the supercharger when i get my filter. i know this will reduce engine compartment temps but do you guys think this will give me better airflow to the new filter and more rpms???
I ride in very high altitude (look at my profile photo lol) and the max rpm i have ever run was 7780-7800 but i can run normal farther south which is why im getting this filter. my x is new so i know its the altiude as with my old rxp. And i dont want a 4 inch because i dont want a catchcan.
Thanks alot in advance guys any input appreciated!

You can still route the breather line back to the intake if you dont want a catch can with the 4in Kit. There are posts with pictures here.

The 4in may put you near 8k.

Just punch a hole in the kanaflex and push it in.
Very easy,a catch can isn't a lot of work either, but this works fine also.

So does anyone think it would be a smart idea to mount flo rites for this type of setup to be more effective???

Do the 4", cut a small slit in the Kanaflex and pop the hose in there. Works great and you can forget about it. I've never oiled the filter.

tell your folks to buy the fizzle 4" intake and the R&D 4in adapter. It'll be CHEAPER and youll get better performance...

The R&D adapter is not needed.

I can exclude the catch can if necessary. Just put a note in the comments section when you go to place your order saying "no catch can".

Doing flo-rites will not help much with a front air intake. If you decide to purchase some anyway, my advice is to not put them right next the supercharger, but rather right next the exhaust.

ok thanks alot i might put 2 of them above the brp logo in the back and hopefully that will create a vaccum and put some air in the engine compartment. im still undecided cause i know that 3 inch is a pita! to mount to the oil filler tube but worried about how to mount the 4 inch and if it'lll bounce around or melt if it touchs the block.

check out les cookes 4 inch kit it come with an adapter that mounts on your steering arm and also has a fitting in the adapter that your breather connects to, the only thing you'll have to do is extend the breather a lil to reach other than that it a 5 star kit. When installed - Sounds like you have a fighter jet under your hood haha.....
