dropping in a 1000cc psi genesis race gas motor into a 94 sl hull.

this winter I am going to be starting my prodject of installing a 1000cc psi genesis motor into a 94 sl 750 hull.
I am pulling every thing out of a hull that was cut and hacked on way to much. I picked a clean hull up that I will transplant every thing into.

I have the triple pipes and every thing else to go with this build.
My motor was built for race gas I have seen other users on here running the genesis motors. I might need to talk to you about your heads might need dimensions and cc of dome for re cut if I decide I don't want to run race gas in my ski.

so for thos of you that have the triple 1000psi engines how to they run against the new big shit out there?

thanks for the welcomes guys. I will post soon.

starflight did you have to do any thing to bring more air into the chassis.
the one I have has the trunk removed and there is a blower in its place and there he holes ported in the back to allow for heat off of the pipes I beleive.

If your talking about the PSI 1000cc motor made back in the day(mid 90's) I have only heard of 4 including yours that's still around.
    1. is hid away,a old PSI race Ski.
    2. A guy on here from Michigan, but he has never ran it yet.Haven't heard much from him lately
    3. One was up fopr sale about a year ago somewhere.

Or are you talking about a newer version?

Xlint has a set of the 780 PSI valved cylinders,Gen III heads and pipes

and my PSI 750 is one of the most complete packages I've ever heard that is all together.(See below)
Let's see pictures,we love Ski Porn.

But to answer your question,Old 2 stroke really won't hold a candle to Modded new stuff.Unless a TON of money is dropped. In the old school 2 stroke stuff, there are some killer Yamis running.(Check the MUDBUG threads)

No I only have stock ventilation in my ski. My pipes stay cool as they are water jacketed (yours should be too. if not, they are wrong for your application), and heat is not a problem. I think I've read of some ideas to get more air into the hull by using a 12 volt blower to pressurize the hull to get more performance, but I don't like the idea of doing so. I wonder if the prior owner was trying that theory?

the hull is definitely not pressurized. That is not a bad idea though but I would be worried about being consistent with the pressure inside the hull as it would be hard to maintain accurate jetting you would think.

there were holes drilled on the back of the hull seat covers this. then up front there is a blower blowing in air to the carbs. I do plan on transfering the blower to the new used hull.

another question I am curious about is there a difference between pipes for a slt and a sl ? How hard would it be to use my pipes in the slt ski ???

I was hoping that this old ski would keep up with some of the newer stuff. I figured as big as they are and as small as this unit is there would be a major weight advantage there. but if its only the modified skis I gotta worry about then I am good with that.

Fresh air into the hull is a good thing. Just don't compromise the ability of the hull to float when inverted.

I was surprised to notice that when I burp the throttle firmly on my 1200 Virage (when it is on the trailer), I can see the seat get sucked down from the engine air intake suction

I think the PSI pipes will fit the SLT better then the stock 785 pipes. You will have a hard time keeping up with the new boats if they have any mods. My SLT does 64 ish.. My 1200R does 73 ish My conversion does 83 ish.
